Flansburgh-designed and Windover-built Wellness Center at St. John's Prep in was just announced as the winner of in the 2017 Award Competition of the Design-Build Institute of America New England Chapter (DBIANE). The Wellness Center received the Gold Award, with the Silver Award going to the F.W. Webb Central Distribution Facility in Londonderry, NH and the Five Colleges Library Annex in Amherst, MA recognized by the DBIANE with the Bronze Award.
With design-build as the project delivery method for St. John's Prep's new Wellness Center, Flansburgh worked closely with Windover Construction throughout the design process. This partnership is another example of how Flansburgh successfully collaborates with contractors to deliver the best result for the client. In particular, the DBIANE praised Flansburgh and Windover's commitment to seamless teamwork from the very beginning of the project: "Early communication and coordination were integral to the success of the Wellness Center project. Preconstruction meetings were held weekly with the design-build team, trade partners and St. Johns Prep to collaboratively review scope, budget, and scheduling of the project."
