Flansburgh to Work with Hawaii Preparatory Academy on Middle School Reconsolidation

July 27, 2016 |

We are delighted to be working once again with Hawai’i Preparatory Academy, a familiar and enthusiastic client with a beautiful campus. Designed by the iconic Hawai’ian architect Vladimir Ossipoff, the campus is comprised of a collection of low-rise buildings situated in a stunning landscape between the Kohala mountains and Mauna Kea on the big island of Hawai’i.

The initial project serves to compliment the existing Gates Theatre with an additional 8,000 square feet of arts, music, and technology while planning for the future expansion and consolidation of the existing upper school campus to allow for the incorporation of the middle school, currently two miles away.

Composing the new structures as long low profile buildings along the landscape using a palette of regional materials will provide the campus with a needed upgrade while in keeping with the late Ossipoff’s original design concepts.
