Flansburgh's Work in Wood Architecture Featured in New Book

December 10, 2018 |

Wood Architecture Today, recently published by Barcelona-based booq Publishing, discusses projects designed by "30 of the most relevant contemporary international architects who put [wood] into service in new and inspiring ways." The book features Flansburgh's work at Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Jacob's Pillow Dance, and Indian Mountain School.

This marked the first time that Perles Family Studio, designed by Flansburgh for Jacob's Pillow, is highlighted in a book, whereas the Indian Mountain School Student Center had previously been featured in Celebrating Excellence in Wood Architect, published in 2015 by Wood Design & Building. Furthermore, Wood Architecture Today is the third book to examine and evaluate Flansburgh's award-winning design for Hawaii Preparatory Lab Energy Lab, following Amanda Sturgeon's Creating Biophic Buildings and Brad Liljequist's The Power of Zero: Learning from the World's Leading Net Zero Energy Buildings.

Wood Architecture Today is available for purchase from booq PublishingAmazon, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and other online and offline vendors.
