St. John's Preparatory School has announced plans to build a new Wellness Center on their Danvers campus. The 78,000-square-foot center, designed by Flansburgh Architects, is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2017.
The $24.9 million design includes an eight-lane pool, four-court field house, indoor track, fitness space, and locker rooms, gallery space for art work, a meditation room, and multipurpose rooms for programs such as yoga or Brazilian jiu jitsu. Adjacent to the center is the Cronin Memorial Stadium used for football and lacrosse. The stadium will see upgrades of synthetic turf, enlargement of both the field and track to meet competition regulations and new bleachers. A new 600-killowatt solar array will be added for the purpose of powering the Wellness Center during daylight hours.
