Tewksbury Approves Funding for New Elementary School

On May 6, the Annual Town Meeting of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, approved funding for the construction of a new elementary school. The project, designed by Flansburgh and supported by the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), received overwhelming support from Tewksbury residents at the Town Meeting.

The total project cost is estimated to be $98.5 million, of which $32.7 million will be reimbursed by the state through the MSBA. With funding secured, Flansburgh Vice President Kent Kovacs, AIA, who leads the design team, will now take the project to the next phase. The new elementary school will replace Tewksbury's aged Trahan School and North Street School, once it open its doors in 2022.
