International Community School of Addis Ababa | Elementary School

New K-5 Facility | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The International Community School of Addis Ababa serves the international and Ethiopian communities, providing an accredited pre-K through 12th grade program and International Baccalaureate Diploma in a culturally diverse atmosphere. The school’s 15-acre campus sits on a prominent street in the city of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

We were retained to create a comprehensive long-term master plan, which will bring the aging campus up to modern standard and transform it into a sustainable environment. Our plan creates important open spaces that give the campus a clear sense of orientation and provide the campus with intimate outdoor areas.

Currently, we are designing a series of one, two and three-story buildings with an area of approximately 8,000 square meters constructed for the elementary school section. The construction is slated to begin in this October a phased manner while the campus remains functional and classes are in session.
