Library and Classroom Building | Kathmandu, Nepal

The project for this K-12 international school in Kathmandu, Nepal involves the design and construction of two structures: a new Library and Learning Center and a new Administration and Arts building. The library will become a technology and social hub for the campus, replacing the existing outdated library with a transparent modern 3-story building. The first level will hold project rooms, a conference room, quiet seating areas, social gathering space, a coffee bar and offices. The second level is organized around an outdoor courtyard, with elementary school book stacks and story area on one side and computer room and quiet area on the other sides. The upper floor holds classrooms and smaller seminar rooms. The administration building incorporates a new reception and entry gate, offices, and bus parking with drop-off space on the ground floor. The upper floor includes two art rooms and offices around an outdoor courtyard terrace.
