Since 1928, Interlochen Center for the Arts has provided an immersive arts program that develops a sense of unity that can only be reached through a deep, shared appreciation. The gorgeous campus, set between two pristine lakes and surrounded by calm pines in northwest Michigan, has a distinct and magic-like feeling that generations of artists and arts aficionados have experienced. The dance center prides itself on fostering growth in the arts.
Joseph Morrissey, the Director of Dance at Interlochen, believes that with the new building “students can better train to meet the ever-changing demands of the dance industry.” Along with the teachers, the students also felt excited when they step into the new space. The project involved conceptual design, renovations and expansions, five studios, changing rooms, offices, and other support spaces.
