PROJECT ARCHITECT
Flansburgh is seeking a licensed Project Architect with 7 to 10 years experience in a design-oriented office. Project Architects are responsible for leadership and coordination of project team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role will assist senior leadership in design, managing production, mentoring staff, representing the firm to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. Exceptional design talent and technical skills are required in order to oversee the planning and execution of project documents. A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Revit, Cinema4D, Sketchup preferred) are required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required. A licensed/registered architect with LEED certification is strongly preferred.
JOB CAPTAIN / PROJECT MANAGER
Flansburgh is seeking an architect with 7 to 15 years’ experience in a design-oriented office to assist and/or lead production of large public projects. The qualified candidate will participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and the design team. We are seeking a motivated person with exceptional technical skills, design ability, and time-management skills to successfully execute construction documents and meet project deadlines. Applicants should have a clear knowledge of building systems, sustainability practices, and an understanding of appropriate constructability within a project budget. Excellent communication and leadership skills, a five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture, and advanced knowledge of BIM software (Revit preferred) are required. A licensed/registered architect with LEED certification (or near licensure and certification) is preferred.
CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR
Flansburgh Architects is seeking a qualified registered architect to join our team as a Construction Administration specialist. We see Construction Administration as a critical continuation of the design process, and we seek an individual with a passion for overseeing the building process and working closely with the contractor. The Construction Administrator is responsible for coordinating building projects from construction kick-off to final completion and through the warranty period. Job duties will include field inspections and reports, review of submittals and shop drawings, review of application for payments, responding to RFI’s, coordination with consultants, attending progress meeting, preparing punch lists and preparing various AIA documents. The role will include ongoing communication with the Project Architect and/or the Design Principal to maintain a continuity with design choices and decisions required in the field.
- Twelve (12+) plus years of experience working in an architectural firm with construction administration experience and the ability to understand trade documents and knowledge of construction terminology. Education sector experience and familiarity with Chapter 149 and 149a construction delivery methods ideal.
- Minimum Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
- Excellent communication and people management skills - Analytical, intelligent, ability to quickly re-direct focus, resourceful, grammatically accurate, formatting competent, organized, helpful, multitasker, reliable, dependable, trustworthy
- Software – Proficiency with BIM software (Revit preferred), ProCore, Microsoft Office. Our office is Mac-based.
