The new upper school building embraces the classical style of the existing campus while being environmentally responsive. A geo-exchange heating and cooling system will use the earth’s heat-sink ability to dramatically lower electricity usage. Deep overhangs and broad loggias on the southeast and southwest facades keep out direct sun to reduce solar gain and provide generous outdoor areas for group study.
